Cosmos in Eureka

Cosmos opens new facilities in the Eureka building of the Parque de Investigación (PRUAB), of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), Bellaterra.

Since the creation of PRUAB in 2007, it has supported more than 300 business and entrepreneurial projects as well as enhance the creation of 92 companies, with a success rate of more than 80%. These companies have created around 850 new jobs, of which 25% correspond to highly qualified profiles, and have a turnover of around 50 million euros per year, according to IRTA (Instituto de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentarias).

Eureka is currently the Cosmos I&D Center, led by our Technical Director Sergi Armengol. In this month of October, we have moved the Creation and the Application Departments. As far as facilities are concerned, Cosmos has its own wing with a laboratory for creating flavours, a laboratory for applications of sweet flavours and a meeting room.

Cosmos has an own cutting-edge technology, but in addition it makes use of UAB’s own resources, including the SPTA (Servicio Planta de Tecnología de los Alimentos) Food Technology pilot plant.

At Eureka we trust and hope to promote research within the technological and research framework offered by the UAB.
